Bronagh Cleland

Bronagh Cleland (Chair)

Bronagh lives in Malahide Co. Dublin with her husband Adam and their 4 children. Bronagh’s youngest little boy has CMN and the family have been actively involved in the work of Caring Matters Now (UK) since 2014. Bronagh has served on the UK Board of Trustees since 2015 and over the past 2 years has focused her attention on establishing Caring Matters Now Ireland.

The desire to set up an Irish charity for those affected by CMN was driven by an increasing number of families in Ireland, reaching out to the UK charity for support and advice. Bronagh is delighted that Caring Matters Now Ireland will now be able to roll out supports on the ground in Ireland and fundraise for the ongoing research into CMN.

Caroline Hackman

Caroline Hackman (Secretary)

Caroline lives in Kilcoole, Co. Wicklow with her husband Jason and their 4 children. Caroline’s daughter Lauren, who is 15 years old, has CMN. Caroline and her family have been actively supported by Caring Matters Now (UK) since Lauren was four years old.

Caroline understands first-hand the value of the support provided by the charity along with the long-term benefits for Lauren herself. Caroline is the regional support contact for the Republic of Ireland and is very much looking forward to developing the charity in Ireland.

Jodi Whitehouse (Treasurer)

Jodi founded Caring Matters Now (UK) with the support of her family and friends in 1997, after being asked by Dr Atherton to support others affected by CMN at Great Ormond Street Hospital. Jodi has CMN herself and therefore understands the impact living with CMN can have on an individual.

Over the years Jodi and her family developed Caring Matters Now (UK) and in 2012 she became the charity’s CEO. As CEO Jodi is committed to overseeing the management of Caring Matters Now (UK), strategically developing the charity, seeking new opportunities to raise funds for CMN research and developing Caring Matters Now support internationally. Jodi worked alongside Bronagh to establish Caring Matters Now Ireland and is very excited to see the charity grow internationally.
